my story
A major life shift—and the reality of not having the finances for traditional housing—pushed me to rethink how I lived. As a single, mid-life woman with a steady job and an artist’s eye, I became one of the first to build my own tiny house in 2020. A caravan wasn’t right for me; I wanted a home I could feel proud of.
I saved relentlessly, found a yard, and built it piece by piece, contracting each trade as needed. I used second-hand doors and windows, form ply benches, ply cladding, and exposed hardwood trims—creating a beautiful black-and-golden space. It was simple, affordable, and almost perfect.
I lived in it for 4.5 years until work took me elsewhere—and now I’m starting again
I have wanted to build a site like this for people like me for a long time. Super excited to be able to help others find a home where there is dignity, sharing and trust .
